Micro Loans
Working together with our Indian fellow-workers in Andra Pradesh, we give poverty-stricken people micro loans, enabling them to set up some kind of business and support themselves.
Micro loans are interest free and are repaid as soon as the recipient starts to earn money. The number of loans repaid tops 97%. The system is unique in that it has a self-regenerating effect.#
Almost 90% of the loans go to women, who are usually responsible for supporting an average of six further family members.
Micro loans are given for various enterprises, such as:
- Market Stall selling fruit and vegetables
- Domestic animals such as goats.
- Weaving looms or sewing machines
- Candle production
